The Tremeloes come to Bishop's Waltham!

Saturday 11th July 2009

Formed in 1958 and having their first chart success in 1963, the Tremeloes are one of the longest lasting rock and roll bands in the history of popular music and still performing live five decades later. A measure of their popularity is that their touring schedule for 2009 takes in 51 performances in four countries!

While their last chart hit was in 1971, the band continued to produce and release songs until 1989. Over the years, as with all bands, the line-up has changed, but unlike some bands who trade on a name with no original members, the Tremeloes has two in the shape of Dave Munden, drummer, and Rick West, guitarist who both date back to the first hit Twist and Shout in '63. Of the newer members, Joe Gillingham joined in the 1990's, playing keyboards and Jeff Brown is still very much the new boy having joined in 2005.
